Through the world’s first Crowdfunding Accelerator Program startups, creatives, and entrepreneurs seeking $25k to $1 million in capital crowdsource the business development and capital formation processes to make the path to financial stability less risky and more collaborative.
Entrepreneurs, Startups, and SMBs
We provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with access to startup capital, digital media experts, a team of student interns, and crowdfunding best practices through a 10-week accelerator program. Unlike traditional accelerators, we document the entrepreneurial experience that business owners go through as they prepare to raise up to $1M in capital. By documenting the business development and capital formation processes, we can better understand the learning trajectory of our startups and the ideal methodology with which to coach them.
Students and Universities
As part of the Accelerator Program, college students spend 10-weeks working in a credited internship with coPhilly portfolio companies that are in the process of raising capital and scaling their businesses. Through the Accelerator, students experience entrepreneurship from three unique perspectives: the business owner, the investor, and the employee. Students interface with serial entrepreneurs and first-time founders throughout the course of the program while learning a core set of 21st century job skills that will help them secure employment or start their own business after college. We exclusively partner with collaborative universities that pre-approve the accelerator program as a 3-credit internship.
Investors, Sponsors, and Stakeholders
We identify and engage investors, donors, and sponsors who contribute time, pro bono services, and startup capital to help support early-stage businesses. Investors and strategic service providers receive vetted clientele and the potential to share in the earliest stages of success with dozens of scaling businesses. coPhilly portfolio companies validate themselves in the low-risk crowdfunding space while being carefully vetted by a private group of Accelerators, Angel Investors, and Venture Capital firms seeking pre-qualified deal flow.
coPhilly Accelerator Program provides a structured curriculum for entrepreneurs designed around emerging best practices of the crowdfunding industry. During the 10 week program entrepreneurs participate in at least three workshops per week learning how to refine their Narrative and Numbers as it pertains to raising capital. coPhilly staff, advisors, and strategic partners lead the workshops to provide entrepreneurs with necessary direction and mentoring. All workshops are recorded live and made available through our private Entrepreneurship On Demand Video Library. In between workshops, entrepreneurs collaborate with their team of student interns, schedule office hours with coPhilly advisors, and attend networking events. At the end of the 10 weeks, business owners present their crowdfunding campaign at Demo Day to a group of qualified investors, advisors, community stakeholders, and crowdfunding experts who help determine if the business is sufficiently prepared to raise capital.
