What We Do
CoPhilly operates as the first crowdfunding accelerator program in the world. Startups seeking up to $1,000,000 in seed capital that have the potential to fundraise $25,000-$100,000 on leading crowdfunding websites are accepted into the accelerator program. Industries accepted include mixed media, software, mixed design, creative arts, performing arts, culinary, and manufacturing.
Our ten-week curriculum-based program teaches startups how to raise small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet, in the form of a donation request, a pre-sale to early adopting consumers (typical revenue), a peer-to-peer loan (debt), or an equity offering (stock), using leading crowdfunding websites as initial financing mediums.
During the accelerator, crowdfunding experts and serial entrepreneurs mentor our startups to prepare them for “Demo Day”, where companies receive the opportunity to publically pitch investors, donors, and lenders in an effort to secure funding, customers, and advisors.
